Post #11: Olympia's Purple Martins

During my time on the sailboat in Olympia's Boston Harbor, I spent quite some time observing the purple martins. Each year, they come to the harbor's nesting boxes, kicking out some (very unhappy) European starlings in the process! They seem to be quite the attraction each spring, with people gathering on the beach and boardwalk to watch the animated birds war over the best nesting boxes.
